Only one person understands the spreadsheet. If that person gets sick or goes on vacation, nobody knows what’s owed, what was ordered or what was delivered.
Stock doesn’t add up. The system says there are ten and the storeroom has three. You sell what you don’t have and reorder what you already have too much of.
Invoicing is done by hand. Data is copied from one place to another, a mistake slips through, and at the end of the month someone stays late to close the books.
Customers are scattered. A bit in WhatsApp, a bit in a notebook, a bit in the salesperson’s head. Nobody knows who needs a call back.
To know how you’re doing, you have to ask. There’s no single place to see how much you sold, what you’re owed or what’s about to run out without building a new spreadsheet.
If you recognize yourself in two or more, it’s probably no longer a question of tidiness: your business needs a system.
